The ¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± is designed and proved by both Chinese and overseas famous experts and scholars, and constructed partly by a nationally  well-known new energy enterprise--- Tianwei Yingli New Energy Resources Co., Ltd, Baoding City, Hebei Province.

According to the company, the investment on this project is RMB 1,231,000,000. It is expected that, the ¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± will become a demonstration base of BIPV.

¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± covers 14, 4 hectares, and the construction consists of projects in three stages . The first-stage project is the Jin Jiang International Hotel, which is dubbed ¡°China¡¯s first Photoelectric Mansion¡± and expected to be put into use in the early half year of 2008. The second-stage project is a business conference center, which is already being constructed and will be finished by the end of 2008. And the third-stage project is the apartments and commercial houses.

The Jin Jiang International Hotel and the business conference center in the ¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± will have solar energy walls that generate electricity by big margin and from different angles. The overall designed capacity is 1, 5 MW, an equivalent of a small power plant. The electricity generated can meet the demand of daily lighting. Besides, it can be connected with the grid power generation, so as to prevent the instability of power supply by independent solar power generation system and the additional fee from changing the chargers. What¡¯s more, this project also applies the technology on sewage-source heat pumps and thus uplifts the application efficiency and economical value of renewable energy.

It is estimated that, the ¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± can generate 1,710,000 KWH of electricity and save around 684 tons of standard coal per year. And the application of the technology on sewage-source heat pumps can save 1,880,000 KWH of electricity and 752 tons of standard coal each year.

China has doubled its efforts in developing new and renewable energy in recent years and issued a series of principles and guidelines such as Renewable Energy Law.  With regard of this, Baoding city is also making every effort to build itself into China¡¯s Electronic Valley and Solar Town.  The construction of ¡°Electronic Valley Square¡± is going to bring a large-scale development to the new energy industry of the city and play a demonstration role in promoting the technology of architectural energy saving and developing the utilization of renewable energy.
